Lewis Hamilton is the best Formula One driver in the world, and now he’s officially the best all-time.

After taking poll position at the Portuguese Grand Prix, Hamilton led for most of the race and caught the checkered flag in no-doubt fashion. The victory was his 92nd in F1 races, snapping Michael Schumacher’s long-standing record of 91.

Many thought this record may never be broken. Hamilton is 35 years old, so we likely haven’t seen the last of him atop the podium either. The sports world reacted appropriately.
