These days, we’re honestly more used to things NOT going according to plan than working out how we’d expect them to. Really, though, what in the last year or so has gone at all the way we imagined it to?

Pretty much nothing, so even though this story is absolutely bizarre, we’re somehow fairly unphased.

After a successful overtime victory over the San Jose Sharks on Friday night, the Vegas Golden Knights were expecting to go back to their hotel and relax, get into bed, and kick their feet up following a well-fought battle. Unfortunately, they got back and had to scramble to find another place to stay.

Why, you might ask?

The hotel literally shut their doors and declared bankruptcy as the Golden Knights were staying there. When they left for the game all was well, and when they returned the hotel was closed.

Has a hotel ever shut down mid-stay for an NHL team before?! We don’t think so, but its kind of par for the course these days.

If this year has taught us anything, it’s most definitely to roll with the punches and expect the unexpected.
