To the dismay of wrestling fans, Daniel Bryan was forced to retire in 2016 after suffering a series of concussions. The 36-year-old has expressed his desire to get back in the ring and it looks like he's getting his wish.

Earlier today, the WWE announced Bryan has been cleared for in-ring competition, meaning he could make an appearance at WrestleMania 34 on April 8th.

“Following more than two years of extensive evaluations, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan has been medically cleared to return to in-ring competition by leading neurosurgeons, neurologists and concussion experts, including Dr. Robert Cantu, Dr. Javier Cárdenas and Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher.

Bryan underwent a full review of his medical history and received comprehensive neurological and physical evaluations independent of WWE. He was cleared by each doctor as well as WWE’s Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Maroon.”

After the announcmenet, Bryan issued an emotional response on Twitter.

Fellow wrestlers and fans were overwhelmed following the announcement and voiced their thoughts on Twitter as well.

WrestleMania is set to take place in New Orleans- the city in which he captured the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in WrestleMania30. What an evening it would be if everything goes according to plan and he’s able to make his return.
