Everyone loves a good feel good story, so we’re going to start your Friday off right with one that took place ahead of Game 1 at Maple Leaf Square on Thursday night.

We get Toronto Maple Leaf fans can be found all over the world, but Britain probably isn’t the first place you’d think of, right? Well, a couple of die-hards made the trip to Toronto just to be with Leaf fans to take in the action.

Elliot Hall and Brian Hardy of England, were spotted in the crowd and were given the surprise of a lifetime from CP24. After Hall explained how his love for the Leafs stemmed from watching former captain Wendell Clark, Head of MLSE events Mike Barlett joined reporter Kelly Linehan to give the duo tickets to Game 2 on Saturday night in Boston and as you could expect, the duo went nuts after.

Well… It’s a good thing they took the risk to come down. That’s what it’s all about!

The scene was absolutely crazy at the Square. Whiles these dudes were wiping their tears of joy away, everyone’s favourite refs were back in action, calling the game from the ground.

Some pretty questionable calls out there but okay!

To cap off an already unforgettable night for Elliot and Brian, the Leafs managed to come away with a 4-1 victory to take a 1-0 series leads. We have a feeling that if Toronto can come away with a Game 2 victory, both fans might return to England without a voice.
