The Mitch Marner saga is finally over, as the Toronto Maple Leafs star youngster signed an extension just shy of $11 million AAV over six years. It didn’t come without it’s drama, and we’re still feeling the trickle down effects of the big deal.

One entertaining fallout we can now see came from a Philadelphia Flyers fan named Josh that was trying to recruit #16. Unfortunately, the letter never got to Marner. Well, that’s not completely true, it did get to a Marner, just not the one he was hoping for.

Matt Marner received this letter addressed to Mitch, and the contents were even more entertaining than expected. Following the regular mumbo jumbo, Josh went a little more savage with the “P.S.”, using the departure of Kawhi Leonard from Toronto as a reason why Marner should skip town too.

Unfortunately for Josh, it’s now too late. Mitch will remain a Leaf for this season’s puck drop, but hey, maybe Matt Marner is available?
