It's no secret that it's a tank year for the Red Wings

While this is most definitely a notably ugly tank, tonight, the Red Wings achieved a surprising feat with their victory over the Montreal Canadiens

After going down 2-0 and then 3-1 headed into the third period, the Red Wings surged back to win 4-3 in the final frame.

The victory was a notable one that showed some character in the Wing's ability to come back, but also, it's the first time in FRANCHISE HISTORY that the Red Wings have swept the Canadiens in a season series.

Yes, THESE RED WINGS DID IT.

Despite the fact that their goal differential is an almost impressively massive  -105, and their record is a rough 15-43, these Detroit Red Wings are the first ever to sweep their Original Six rivals in Montreal.

Incredible.

It's worth noting that the only other team that the only other team that the Red Wings have beat more than once this season is the big bad Boston Bruins, another Original Six rival.

If you need us, we'll be shook about this stat for the rest of the week.
