This old tweet from Ovechkin about Vegas went viral after the Caps' Game 7 win

If someone would have told you that Alex Ovechkin would be playing in his first Stanley Cup Final against the Vegas Golden Knights at the beginning of the season, you would have laughed in that person's face.

That improbable scenario is now a reality as the Caps beat the Lightning in Game 7 Wednesday night to advance to the Stanley Cup Final.  As you can imagine, social media was going crazy after Washington's win and there was a particular tweet that got a lot of attention.

This tweet was from the one and only Ovi and it was from back in 2014, but it's obvious why it resurfaced after the victory.

Game 1 goes down Monday in Vegas, so Ovi's right, he'll be there very soon.

Of course, back in June of 2014, he would have been in Vegas to accept an award, but this time he's going to win the most prestigious prize in hockey.
