When it comes to career passing statistics in the Super Bowl, Tom Brady is the leader in nearly every major passing stat category.

Despite being 39-years-old, Brady has seemingly gotten better with age, and this season was another example of that as he helped New England finish fourth in the league in total yards per game and passing yards per game.

That being said, there's something about the first quarter of Super Bowls that the great Brady and Bill Belichick can't seem to figure out.  New England failed to score points in the first quarter of the big game against the Falcons, thus continuing an unpleasant streak.

For as good as Brady and Belichick are as a duo, they just can't figure out how to score in the opening quarter of the Super Bowl.

That being said, the Pats offence doesn't take long to get going based on New England's 4-2 record in their last six Super Bowl appearances, but so far in Super Bowl 51, they've been silent.

In fact, the 21-point deficit is the largest Super Bowl deficit in the Brady-Belichick era.

That being said, if there's one thing we've learned, never count out Tom and Bill.
