Tuesday, Japan defeated China 2-1 in a E-1 Football Championship match. All of the goals in the match came after the 84th minute, but the one that had everyone talking was centre back Gen Shoji's long-range worldy that had more movement on it than a knuckleball fluttering out of the hand of R.A. Dickey.

 

 

Yes, that was actually a centre back who scored that. If you take a look at the goalkeeper, he seemed completely convinced that the ball was going to his right, because it totally was. Then it knuckled wildly, resulting in a goal that's certainly worthy of being nominated for the Puskas award in 2018.

The goal would end up being the game-winner, as China scored in the closing minutes of the match.
