This play is like if a punt block and a punt return had a baby, and then that baby scored a touchdown. Okay, that’s a weird analogy, but this is also a weird play.

Just watch this play, but we promise you, the naked eye is not going to catch the brief period of time between the ball being punted and the ball being in the other team’s hands.

What a great job by the defense to just ghost that ball off the punter’s foot. That’s Cody Thompson of the University of Toledo making the play to open scoring against the Virginia Military Institute, and they didn’t really let up from there on as they finished with a 66-3 win.

We’ve seen some pretty lopsided scores today throughout college football, but it might not get crazier than this 99-81 barn-burner of a high school game between Council Bluffs Jefferson and Sioux City North. One player even ran for 371 yards and eight freaking touchdowns!
