After Super Bowl 52, there were a lot of hot takes about Tom Brady's legacy now that his record is 5-3 when the Lombardi Trophy is on the line.

We think those takes are pretty crazy considering the man broke multiple records in his latest Super Bowl loss while leading the Patriots to 33 points without his best receiver and with a defence that couldn't stop a nosebleed.

Brady was brilliant, but Foles was better and sometimes that's just how it goes.

When speaking to the media after the game, Brady was critical of his own performance like all the great players are, but when you look back at the game, there's really nothing more you could have asked from the 40-year-old.

Nearly a week after the Super Bowl loss, Brady took to Instagram to explain how he was feeling four days later and the message he wrote is as classy as it gets.

It has taken me a few days to reflect on our SB loss as well as the great season our team had. There are many emotions when you come up short of your goal. And they are all part of learning and growing in this journey of life. Learning turns everything into a postitive. And the number one feeling I have had the past 4 days is gratitude. Gratitude to my teammates for the incredible effort given all season regardless of the challenges we faced. Gratitude toward my coaches for the effort and sacrifice they make to put us players in the best position to win. Gratitude to the NEP organization for supporting us on our very challenging and difficult journey. Gratitude to the Philadelphia Eagles team and organization for bringing out the best in us and being gracious winners (as well as congratulations on winning the championship) Gratitude toward our fans who showed up every week to cheer us on and commit their time and energy and love and support to what our goals are. And gratitude to my family and friends who continue to love and support my dreams. Thank you all. I love you all. Best, Tom

Obviously the key word in Brady's message was gratitude (he used it 7 times) and it's hard not to feel gratitude towards everyone, from teammates to the Eagles in that situation.

Getting to the Super Bowl and coming up short sucks, but the journey is enjoyable and being able to do it with your teammates is something every player that makes it that far should be grateful for.
