Divisional games in any sport call for a little extra heat so it wasn’t surprising to see Travis Konecny fire some not-suited-for-work words at David Savard on Thursday.

Adrenaline was running high. Game was locked at threes in overtime in a massive Metropolitan showdown. It all came to an end, however, when Kevin Hayes fired a wrister past Elvs Merzlikins. Hayes followed up the goal with a sick celly, but Konecny undoubtedly had the most memorable moment when he mouthed some pretty harsh words at the Jackets defender.

Talk about rubbing some salt in the wound!

In fairness, Konecny also walked the walk. The 22-year-old scored his 21st of the year and added an assist on the winning goal. The win kept Philly in the Metro’s third spot and gave them their second straight victory against Columbus in a home-and-home.

Thursday wrapped up the season series between the two, with the Flyers managing to take home all three. Barring a playoff meeting, Savard will have to wait until next season to exact revenge.
