While we’re still a few weeks out from NHL playoffs (17 days, but who’s counting?), playoffs in junior hockey leagues across the country are already underway.

As any hockey fan knows, things definitely get a little more intense around the playoffs. The stakes are higher, and things get exponentially more heated.

The CHL playoffs are currently in their first round, and the fourth seed in the OHL's Eastern Conference Sudbury Wolves are currently playing host to the fifth seed Mississauga Steelheads. During the second game of the series last night, playoff animosity was abundant when two heavy hitters, Keean Washkurak and Ryan O'Bonsawin, went head to head in a very spirited fight just halfway through the first period.

Now THOSE are some heavy hands.

The two players are 2001 and 1999 born respectively, but both have some experience dropping the gloves in the past. The Wolves’ O'Bonsawin has five career fights under his belt, while 17-year-old Washkurak has seven.

While looking into last night’s tilt, we found a couple of Washkurak’s previous ones, and we’re seriously impressed.

The Wolves currently lead the series 2-0, and last night’s win was an overtime thriller up North.

We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this series, as the rivalry is sure to only heat up.
