Pro Football Hall of Fame speeches are a time for reflection. Players typically make sure to recognize their former teammates, coaches, and most importantly, family members. Three-time Super Bowl champion Ty Law made it clear that his mother has served as his rock, and expressed his gratitude for her in one of the more emotional speeches the ceremony has seen.

In front of a packed crowd in Canton, and with tears in his eyes, Law insisted that the ceremony marked the induction of the two of them into the Hall of Fame. He also made it known that although he’s now a grown man, he’ll always be her “little boy.” Get the tissues out, because this one’s tough to get through without shedding a few tears.

We always find ourselves asking the same question after watching videos like this… Who’s cutting onions for crying out loud?!?!

In January, Law wrote a letter to his younger self ahead of being named an inductee in the Players’ Tribune in which he mentioned the major role his grandfather played in his upbringing because of his mother being just 16 at the time of his birth. Law did not mention the exact adversity he and his mother went through, but clearly the two share a unique bond. He went on to thank his father Larry Jeter, who was also in attendance, shortly after.

This speech will of course remind some readers of Kevin Durant’s MVP speech back in 2014. You the real MVP, Mama!

In 15 NFL seasons with the Pats, New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos, Law finished his career with five Pro Bowls to his name and two first-team All-Pros under his belt. Safe to say that none of it would have been possible without the woman who raised him.

Congrats Ty!
