So often players and referees are placed on opposite sides and seem to have volatile relationships where they’re often yelling at each other.

Whether a player is upset with a call made, a call missed or just wants to let out their frustration, referees can often be on the wrong end of that. Even in minor hockey this is frequent and perhaps even more common as parents jump in from behind the glass. Well, Tyler Johnson proved that not all conversations with refs are filled with anger.

Johnson was just curious if they ref had an opinion on a goal that was under review or if he saw a better angle of the call. As time goes on, they hedge their bets and Johnson ends up correct in his analysis, where he assumed the goal was coming back.
