Tyson Barrie knows the Leafs can do better.

With zero goals and just seven assists to his name so far this season, Barrie hasn’t lived up to the hype and understands his team hasn’t either. The 28-year-old registered an assist but finished with a +/- minus one rating after turning the puck over to Tomas Nosek for the Golden Knight’s second goal in the Leafs’ 4-2 loss. Toronto held a players only meeting ahead of the game and after failing to come out on top, Barrie very clearly admitted the team has failed to live up to expectations so far.

The #Leafs dropped their sixth straight game on Tuesday night. 😬

Tuesday night’s loss marked the Buds’ sixth in a row and dropped them below .500 (9-10-4). This is the first time they’ve lost six in a row under head coach Mike Babcock since his first season, when Nazem Kadri led the team with 45 points in 76 games. Toronto nearly tied things up late in the third period but Vegas goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury had other plans.

It’s only November but it’s clear Leafs players are growing more and more frustrated by each loss. They’ll be on the road for the next four games so time will tell if they’re able to turn things around.
