Monday night, the top two goal scorers in the NHL went at it and Alex Ovechkin came out on top in a big way.

#Ovechkin scores the 600th goal of his career!

A post shared by TSN (@tsn_official) on

Ovi scored his 600th career goal and if the accomplishment in itself wasn't impressive enough, this stat makes the milestone all the more incredible.

How insane is that? Since the 1998-1999 season, nobody has scored more goals than Ovi despite the fact that he didn't enter the league until 2005.  If that stat doesn't prove to you Ovechkin is the greatest goal scorer of this generation, then there's nothing more we can do to convince you.

Ovechkin is currently in 20th place on the all-time goals list, but by the end of the season, it's not crazy to think he could pass Bobby Hull who's currently in 17th with 610 goals.
