It’s no secret that Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand is a pest. He’s become known for making opposing players skin crawl through his antics (such as licking and kissing players).

On Friday, though, he may have had a point. He got called for a very weak slashing penalty in which his stick barely touched Dallas Stars’ goaltender Ben Bishop’s pads.  Bishop reacted as though it hurt, possibly leading to the two minute call.

That two minutes turned into a few more minutes when Marchand was tagged with an additional 10 minutes for waiving the white flag from the penalty box.

Marchand was apparently unhappy with the officiating, and was letting the zebras know he surrenders. Earlier in the period Marchand had been tacked with a roughing double-minor, rounding out his 16-minutes of punishment in the 2nd period.

He would go on to get tagged with two more minutes for roughing in the 3rd, but despite his 18 minutes of sin-bin sitdown, the Stars couldn’t capitalize. It wasn’t until overtime when Jason Dickinson was able to pot the Stars first goal, winning the game 1-0.

During his time in the box, Marchand made sure to let the hometown fans have it a little bit.

Fans were actually siding with the polarizing left winger on this one.
