Friday was a pretty eventful day for the Williams sisters.
As Venus Williams was set to hit the court for her third round match against Maria Sakkari at the US Open, news broke that her younger sister Serena had just given birth to her first child.
Venus didn’t waste a lot of time against her Greek opponent and defeated in her straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
Although Sakkari did not come out on top and was eliminated from the tournament, one of the ball boys was probably a little more upset than she was after the match and for a reason that had nothing to do with the final outcome.
Venus Williams’ serve has been recorded around 129mph in the past, so you can only imagine how much pain the ball boy was in after he took the shot directly to the crotch.
Roger Federer ended up seeing the replay of Venus’ serve and he was left speechless after imagining what type of pain the kid must have been in.
Hopefully the youngster is alright, because that’s something no one should ever have to experience.
