Ever since he was traded to the Alouettes everyone has been anxiously waiting for the Johnny Manziel era to start in Montreal.

Fans were so eager to see Johnny that they started chanting "We Want Johnny" Thursday night during Montreal's loss to Edmonton at home and the starter for the Als that game, Vernon Adams Jr., didn't take to kindly to the chants as per La Presse:

(Quotes from Adams to La Presse translated via Google Translate)

"Yes, it hurt me to hear that. I have nothing more to say or to give to the supporters of Montreal. Never again.  Their behavior was very disrespectful. It was not like I was playing badly. I do not want them to ask me for anything, not even a small piece of equipment."

"I do not care what the situation is. It was a lack of respect and it affected me.  I tried anyways to make plays on the field. But that's fine. In the future, I'll treat the fans as they treated me. That's all. "

You can't blame Adams for being upset about what he feels was disrespect shown by the Montreal fans.

He is, after all, trying to do the same thing Johnny is, take advantage of an opportunity and make a name for himself in the CFL as a legitimate starter.  It's not easy to do that when everyone wants to see your backup regardless of what you do on the field.

Speaking of seeing his backup, Montreal fans may get their wish Friday night as all signs point towards Manziel making his first-career CFL start against his former team.
