When Victor Oladipo became an Indiana Pacer it wasn’t exactly in the happiest of ways. The Pacers had just lost their superstar, Paul George, to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Oladipo was basically tasked with what many considered to be too tall of a task – filling George’s shoes.

Oladipo was a good compliment player on the Thunder, but nobody saw him coming in and taking over in Indiana the way he did. In 75 games with the Pacers, ‘Dipo scored an average of 23.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.4 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. Those are much bigger numbers than anyone expected.

Oh, he also came oh, so close to beating LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs. This was enough to earn him Most Improved Player honours at year’s end. The result? He won a Kia.

Instead of cruising around in his new car, Oladipo decided to give back to the community that has come to love him so much. After hearing Renita Hills story, one that includes surviving through domestic violence at the hands of Bill Cosby, he decided that the car would be better off in her hands.

Her reaction is priceless:

Oladipo continues to work his way into the hearts of Indiana’s faithful. It also helps that he continues to get in done on the court as well.
