Last season, the Golden State Warriors signed veteran players like David West and Zaza Pachulia for next to nothing to fill out their roster.

Both players chose Golden State to win a championship, which they did, and both players contributed throughout the regular season and the playoffs.

West will be back again with the Warriors, but they have a few spots open for guys who just want a shot at winning.

40-year-old Vince Carter seems like the perfect candidate to sign with the Warriors, but as he explained in an interview with NBA TV, he's not ready to just sit on the bench:

“I want to play. For sure. The chasing of the championship thing … I just feel like if I’m 43, 44 … when it gets there and I’m not able to compete at that level and someone still would love to have me on their bench, then maybe. But right now I want to play, I want to contribute. I think I can play in this league. I’m looking to play some minutes.”

Carter still wants to contribute and if last season was any indication, he still is more than able to do so.

As far as the latest reports go, Carter is apparently scheduled to meet with the Kings Monday.

Sunday, though, Carter was showing off his skills of the court on the mic.
