Florida Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck suffered one of every hockey player’s worst nightmares on Monday when he broke his leg in a scary collision on Monday night. The 25-year-old got his leg tangled with Ottawa Senators forward Ryan Dzingel and remained helpless on the ice. After being stretchered out of the Canadian Tire Centre, Trocheck was taken to hospital where he eventually had successful surgery to repair his broken leg. Despite being out indefinitely, Trocheck seems to be in good spirits and took to twitter to express his gratitude for the support he’s received over the past few days.

Here's what his fans had to say:

Remarkably, general manager Dale Tallon iterated his belief that Trocheck will be back this season.

In 18 games, the speedy forward has notched 3 goals and 11 assists in 14 games. It’ll be a long road to recovery, but hopefully hockey fans get to see the Pittsburgh native back on the ice at some point in the new year.
