The Philadelphia Flyers’ mascot Gritty has taken the sports world by storm this week as he’s already become the most followed NHL mascot on Twitter in just a couple of days.

While the newest member of the Flyers’ franchise has already met members of the loyal fan base, he was still a stranger to the players on the team as of Wednesday morning. However, that all changed that same afternoon as Wayne Simmonds and Claude Giroux finally met Gritty on Wednesday afternoon.

It didn’t take very long for Simmonds and Gritty to become best friends, and it looked like the Flyers’ captain was on board with the new member as well.
