It’s a busy time for fans of football right now — NCAA college football made its return last week, and then it was the NFL this week, and of course, the CFL is still going strong.

Not to be lost among them, though, is the fact that U Sports, Canada’s own collegiate sports association, is starting up as well — and Kian Schaffer-Baker of the Guelph Gryphons had this memorable opening salvo.

That’s an absolute filthy one-handed catch. Of course, we’ve seen some sweet one-handers before, even in this calendar year alone — Texas Tech receiver T.J. Vasher pulled one in during his debut last week, and so did the Calgary Stampeders’ Juwan Brescacin in Week 1 of CFL action.

(Man, there really seems to be something about Week 1 and one-handed catches going on here.)

Of course, ever since Odell Beckham Jr.’s legendary one-handed catch, every such catch since has been described as ‘OBJ-esque,’ so we’ll spare you that comparison here. Still, how does Schaffer-Baker’s catch compare to Vasher’s or Brescacin’s?
