During the Humboldt Broncos' 2018/19 home opener, members of the Broncos family that had their families impacted by the tragic bus death that took the lives of 16 people were on-hand to take in the game.

One of the perished was head coach Darcy Haugan, who served as the team's bench boss for three seasons.

The widow of Darcy, Christina Haugan, was on hand for the Broncos' home opener and spoke to TSN's James Duthie during the first intermission.

Christina retold an awesome story about Darcy's time spent with the NorthEast Navigators of the North West Junior B Hockey League before he went on to coach in the SJHL.

Amazing. Right out of Jeremy Roenick's playbook.

As James Duthie said, that was a pure evil, genius move. Minor hockey league coaches, take note, and remember Darcy if you ever decide to pull this off.
