William Nylander became the sixth member of the Toronto Maple Leafs to hit the 20-goal mark and the third to hit the 60-point mark this season with a goal against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night and he’s heading back home a lot richer because of his first period marker.

Thanks to the bonuses listed on Nylander’s current contract, his 20th goal of the season earned him an extra paycheck worth $212,500.

The 21-year-old has now collected his maximum of four bonuses this season, earning him an extra $850,000, which is $17,500 more than his yearly base salary of $832,500.

Other bonuses on Nylander’s contract include 35 assists, 60 points, .73 points per game, top 3 plus/minus among forwards on the team, top 6 ice time among forwards on the team, and end-of-season NHL All-Rookie Team honours, which are worth $212,500 each, but he’s only allowed to collect a maximum of four.

Nylander has been outstanding since joining the NHL club during the 2015-16 season as he’s recorded recorded 48 goals and 86 assists for 134 points in 184 games, and has put up back-to-back 60-plus point seasons in his first two full seasons in the NHL.
