Remember when the Ottawa Senators were one win away from playing in the Stanley Cup Final in 2017?  Better yet, they were one goal away as they lost to the eventual champion Pittsburgh Penguins in OT of Game 7.

Fast forward to 2020 and with the news coming out that the Senators are placing Bobby Ryan on waivers for the purposes of buying him out, the entire starting lineup for Game 7 of that series in 2017 is no longer with Ottawa.

Ryan, Craig Anderson, and Mark Borowiecki have all reportedly been told they won't be back with the Sens next season.  In other words, this roster turnaround has been insane for such a short time span.

That said, just because there's been so much turnaround doesn't mean the future isn't bright.  As Ryan said in his statement (via Ian Mendes), there's a lot of talent on the roster right now and they have two top-5 picks.
