We’re starting to think that Yaroslav Askarov would rather play without a stick.

The Russian goalie went viral on hockey Twitter during the World Juniors when he lost his stick in the middle of action and was forced to use one his teammates’ sticks for a brief period.

Askarov was well aware that he ended up trending on Twitter because of that moment so he went ahead and had some fun with it by posting a picture of super glue in his Instagram story a few days later.

We’re guessing he didn’t actually use the super glue - or the one he bought just wasn’t that great - because Askarov lost his stick again in the middle of action on Wednesday night in the KHL, but he recovered in an extremely impressive way.

The Nashville Predators prospect is 5-3 with a 0.96 GAA and a .960 save percentage so far this season.
