Zach Parise was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, so it was an easy decision to sign with the Minnesota Wild when he hit the free agency market following the 2011-12 season.

The soon-to-be 34-year-old has done a lot within the community ever since he returned home to play for the Wild six seasons ago, with his most recent work coming earlier this week. With some help from past and present NHLers Derek Stepan, Jake Guentzel, Nick Leddy, Keith Ballard, Alex Stalock, Mike Reilly and Nate Prosser, as well as his wife Alisha, the Wild forward hosted a skating and pizza party for 16 current and former patients of the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.

The kids from Children’s Minnesota got to take to the ice with the past and present NHL players, where they got the full on-ice experience with some of their heroes.

Incredible gesture put forth by Zach and Alisha Parise and all the players who took time out of their schedule to give the kids an incredible experience.
