The latest Battle of Alberta lived up to the hype.

Six goals in regulation, a shootout, and yes, a fight between Zack Kassian and Matthew Tkachuk. It took less than 17 minutes for the two to drop their gloves and settle their beef from the Oilers’ and Flames’ previous matchup. According to Kassian, Tkachuk wanted to scrap right away but the Oiler wanted to give his counterpart some time to think it over. When they finally decided to dance, Kassian thanked the 22-year-old for stepping up.

Respect!

Following the Flames’ 4-3 shootout victory, the two explained how their fight came to be. Seems like a lot of the hard feelings were lost in Wednesday night’s contest.

Whether they were or not, the Battle of Alberta is BACK and hockey fans couldn’t be happier about it. The two teams will meet again in Calgary on Saturday night… Buckle up!
