Zion Williamson made his highly-anticipated NBA debut on Wednesday when the New Orleans Pelicans took on the San Antonio Spurs. Locked into a tight game, Zion gave the raucous crowd what it wanted when he began to take over in the 4th quarter, draining threes with no hesitation and looking good in other facets of the game as well.

Unfortunately for the young Duke alum, he was on a strict minutes limit. Despite the Pelicans coming close to victory with Zion firing on all cylinders (17 straight points for the team!!!), head coach Alvin Gentry decided to stick with the plan and pull him from the game.

Zion fought to stay in it.

The #Pelicans medical staff pushed head coach Alvin Gentry to pull #ZionWilliamson early in the 4th quarter.

The decision got mixed reactions from fans. Some commended the decision, explaining that if Zion had stayed in and gotten injured it would have been a decision that was ripped apart. Others just wanted to see Zion win the game, and he was flying pretty high at the time too.
