Now that the 2016-17 NHL season is over, it's never too early to look ahead to next season.

The Penguins will try and go for a three-peat while a Canadian team will try to win the Stanley Cup for the first time in 25 years.

Speaking of Canadian teams, obviously Canada's Cup drought is well documented, but one season after no teams from this country made the playoffs, five made it this season.

With stars like Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews leading the way, it's hard not to be excited about the chances of a team from Canada winning the Cup next season.

Apparently the gambling community agrees with that statement, too, as the Oilers are tied with the Blackhawks, Lightning and Capitals with the second-best odds to win Lord Stanley's Mug.

It's also important to note that the Leafs and Habs aren't far behind at 16/1, and from there, the next two closest Canadian teams are Calgary and Ottawa at 33/1.

Unfortunately for any Vegas fans, your team's odds of winning the Cup are actually lower than Colorado's at 150/1.

At least the next two weeks will be exciting, though, and based on last season the Golden Knights could easily finish ahead of the Avalanche.
