This past weekend, Canadian CFL players from across the league landed in Ukraine to kick off a six-day trip that involves stops in Lviv, Ukraine and Marseille, France.
However, they’re not there to take a vacation, they’re there visiting the Canadian troops abroad.
Players on the trip include Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ Travis Bond and Matthias Goossen, BC Lions’ Mike Benson and Eric Fraser, Saskatchewan Roughriders’ Henoc Muamba and Nic Demski, Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ Mike Filer and Craig Butler, Edmonton Eskimos’ Ryan King and Neil King, Calgary Stampeders’ Charleston Hughes and Andrew Buckley, Ottawa Redblacks’ Connor Williams, Montreal Alouettes’ Nicolas Boulay and Toronto Argonauts’ Chris Van Zeyl.
The players, along with the Grey Cup, are making stops at different bases to meet and interact with Canadian troops abroad.
The players and troops are also having some fun by taking part in different drills and activities during their stops.
The players arrived in Marseille early Monday morning and will be visiting members of the Canadian Navy while they’re in France.
