The Wheeling Nailers hosted the Quad City Mallards in ECHL action on Saturday night. The visiting Mallards opened up the scoring pretty early into the game, but the Nailers evened up the score with less than one minute remaining in the opening period.

In the second period, it turned into the Johnny Daniels show…at least for 57 seconds.

The 23-year-old Andover, Massachusetts native entered the game with two career ECHL goals in 16 games, but managed to score three goals in a 57-second span to register his first career ECHL hat trick and to give his team a 4-1 lead.

Quad City scored two quick goals shortly after Daniels’ third of the game, as the Nailers took a 4-3 lead into the final frame.

Even the best players in the world can’t say they’ve accomplished what Daniels did in the second period on Saturday night. What's even crazier is the fact that it's not even the league record for fastest hat trick.
