The Big Ten Basketball Tournament is currently taking place in Washington, D.C., with some of the best teams in the nation competing in the tournament. The Michigan Wolverines are one of the teams in the tournament and will play their first game on Thursday afternoon against Illinois.

The Wolverines were ready to fly out on Wednesday afternoon, when their trip got delayed due to the heavy winds that have been taking over the area. While attempting to takeoff, the pilots were forced to abandon that plan due to the winds and ended up crashing through a fence off the runway.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident, but now the basketball team has to figure out a way to make it to the Verizon Center on time for their game on Thursday afternoon. But we’re guessing that’s the least of their worries right now.

Hopefully they’re able to make it to Washington on time for tip-off, but we’re guessing the league will make some changes to the tournament schedule if necessary.
