Professional athletes don’t just show up to the field and start playing, it’s much more of a process than that. Some players have certain foods that they eat on game, some have certain clothes they wear, and others simply have ridiculous routines that can only be attributed to superstition.

Ahead of Saturday’s showdown with the B.C. Lions, it came to light that Calgary Stampeders running back Jerome Messam has a very unique (and literal) way of “warming up”.

Saturday’s broadcast pointed out that the CFL’s leading rusher and Lions' running back Jeremiah Johnson (the 2nd leading rusher in the league) have two very different pre-game warm ups. While Johnson practices fielding kicks in full gear, Messam watches from a field-side hot tub. While this is not your typical warm-up, you can hardly argue with his reasoning.
