You probably thought we were making it up when you read the headline, but we’re not lying to you when we say that Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving believes planet Earth is flat.

Still think we’re tricking you? We’re not.

Kyrie Irving recently joined the Road Trippin’ Podcast with RJ (Richard Jefferson) and Channing (Frye), and came out and said he truly believes the Earth is flat and not round like everyone thinks. Here’s is reasoning.

“This is not even a conspiracy theory, the Earth is flat.”

“It’s right in front of our faces. I’m telling you, it’s right in front of our faces. They lie to us."

“What I’ve been taught is that the earth is round. But if you really think about it from a landscape of the way we travel, the way we move and the fact that, can you really think of us rotating around the sun and all planets aligned, rotating in specific dates, being perpendicular with what’s going on with these planets?”

Jefferson was left in shock by Irving’s answer and responded by saying this.

“How are you going to put the word ‘planets’ in quotations?”

Here’s how the 24-year-old Irving responded.

“Because, everything that they send — or that they want to say they’re sending — doesn’t come back,” Irving reasoned. “There is no concrete information except for the information that they’re giving us. They’re particularly putting you in the direction of what to believe and what not to believe. The truth is right there, you just got to go searching for it.”

ESPN Senior writer Arash Markazi even asked Irving about his comments while pretty much laughing in his face, but Irving didn’t back down from what he previously said.

You can’t really tell someone that their opinion is wrong, except for this case. We’re guessing other NBA stars aren’t going to be lining up to back him anytime soon.

You’re all alone on this one, Kyrie.
