NHL players spend most of the year either preparing for the upcoming season or playing it.

When hockey isn’t at the forefront of their mind, players need to find other ways to occupy their mind. While road hockey is certainly an option, a new trend seems to have taken other some of the NHL’s top players – paddle boarding.

Paddle boarding takes a terrific amount of balance and core strength, so maybe it will even help the players with their on-ice game. We won’t know the answer to that until the fall, we can relax and watch Brent Burns continue to enjoy his summer.

Sidenote: While the summer of paddle boarding NHL players is upon us, Cody Ceci still holds the most impressive feat when he took his dog, Zeus, on the board with him last year.

Paddling with my boy Zeus. It's officially cottage season.
