The Stanley Cup playoffs are full of hard-fought battles, but at the end of a series the players put everything aside for the ritual end-of-series handshake line. This is a time when even on-ice enemies show respect for their opponents by shaking hands after the series has concluded.

When the Pittsburgh Penguins took on the Ottawa Senators in the Eastern Conference Finals, it's fair to say two players who weren't enemies with one another were former Toronto Maple Leafs' teammates Phil Kessel and Dion Phaneuf.

Of course, the two battled hard against each other throughout the series, and a little bad blood is sure to develop when the stakes are so high.

At the end of the day, Kessel and his Penguins prevailed over Phaneuf and the Sens in double overtime of Game 7.

Knowing the history Kessel and Phaneuf have, the Penguins Twitter account posted a funny tweet of the two meeting in the handshake line.

We imagine the conversation going exactly the way the tweet is phrased.

"Still friends, Phil?"

"Still friends, Dion."

And since we're here talking about Phil and Dion, here's a throwback for everyone to enjoy.

Happy Holidays @phil_kessel_81_
