Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook had the season of his life in 2016-17. The point guard not only became just the second player in NBA history to finish with a season average of a triple-double, but he broke Oscar Robertson’s record for the most triple-doubles in a single season with 42.

Westbrook will most likely take home the MVP award, and has his teammates and Spalding to thank for it. That's right, we said Spalding... the basketball.

On Sunday, Westbrook was quoted saying a player has one friend once they get on the court, and that friend is Spalding:

 

 

Well, on Tuesday Westbrook wanted to make sure the media understood it was no joke at the end of his scrum.

And... the media still has absolutely no idea if it is a joke to Westbrook or not, and it's another reason we love Russell Westbrook.
