There are always going to be people that dislike certain superstar athletes for a variety of reasons.

There are moments, though, in which fans are forced to respect said athletes regardless of how strong their hate for them is.

Russell Westbrook is a fan-favourite in OKC, and basketball fans in general most likely love him because of style of play, his intensity and his honesty.

Some fans, though, feel differently, and that's fine, but Westbrook's historic performance Wednesday night is another reason that every fan should respect him.

Westbrook helped the Thunder erase a 21-point deficit thanks to a 19-point 4th quarter to pick up the overtime win.

As incredible as some of the shots and plays from Russ were, though, the most chilling moment from his historic outing was when the Orlando fans started chanting 'MVP' in OT.

Goosebumps.  That's what sports is all about right there.  It doesn't matter who your allegiances are with or if you like or dislike a player, because in the end, you just have to recognize and applaud greatness.

The win also helped OKC clinch a playoff berth, and Russ was pretty pumped about that when he found out.

He's a team-first player, and although the Thunder don't have as many wins as James Harden and the Rockets, he has our MVP vote.

Westbrook also has eight games to notch four triple-doubles to break Oscar Robertson's all-time single-season record of 41.
