Ahead of the Golden Knights' home opener and first ever game in Vegas Tuesday night, the team honoured the first responders during player introductions in an incredible way.

Furthermore, Vegas resident Deryk Engelland addressed the crowd and gave an emotional speech and heartfelt speech before the game got underway.

Engelland, who has been living in Vegas for 14 years and played for the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL earlier in his career, was the perfect person to deliver such a powerful message to the crowd on hand.

Not only did the Golden Knights honour the first responders in the pre-game ceremony, but they also honoured the victims:

Once the game got underway, Engelland scored one of the four goals the Golden Knights scored in the opening frame.
