While many people claimed that the 2018 NHL draft class was one of the weaker groups in recent years, the kids are more confident than ever.

We’ve already seen Filip Zadina say that he will be filling the net of the teams that passed on him and now we’re getting another chirp from the 11th overall pick in the draft. The New York Islanders selected Oliver Wahlstrom in the 11th slot, two picks after the New York Rangers selected Vitali Kravtsov. Apparently Wahlstrom thought he should have gone in the top 10.

If there was one person that might make all of the teams in the top 10 pay, a lot of people might pick Wahlstrom.

He is known for having one of the highest shot rates in recent years with the U.S. development team and is also said to have an elite shot. Usually, if you’re able to combine shooting a lot with an above-average shot, that’s usually going to lead to a lot of goals.

It’s possible Wahlstrom could make a lot of teams pay.
