Jack Eichel reportedly wants out of Buffalo and Rangers fans are doing their part to manifest a trade.
The Rangers have been rumoured as one of the teams interested in Eichel, and a New York podcast is trying to make it happen with a billboard they placed right beside Buffalo’s KeyBank Arena. The Blueshirts Breakaway podcast made sure to poke fun at the way in which the Sabres’ have handled Jack Eichel’s herniated disc and you just know this one has gotta sting for fans to look at.
… Yikes.
Pretty clever but also pretty gutless.
Eichel has suggested he wants a surgery to fix a herniated disc but the Sabres have reportedly not given him the green light to do so. The 24-year-old played in just 21 games last season and is signed with a $10 million AAV through 2026.
Time will tell what happens with Eichel but we doubt this sign made the Sabres’ brass want to trade him to New York anymore than they did before.
