Evander Kane just got paaaaaaid. The forward, who has been known for leaving teams not on the best of terms, is now locked into the San Jose Sharks organization long term. Kane signed a 7-year deal, raking in $7 million annually (although it is not split up evenly each year).

Kane proved his worth to the Sharks, and apparently it was enough to reward him with an absolutely massive contract. Some are saying that it is way too much, or way too long… or both, but one man that is certainly happy about it is Evander Kane himself.

While he’s faced some turbulence in the past, Kane seems to be very well liked in San Jose. The fans are behind him and his teammates seem to be genuinely enjoying his eccentric personality. With no personality issues emerging from Kane yet, he could work out to be one of the more prominent players in the lineup. His mix of skill and toughness makes him a lethal asset, and one that is awfully hard to play against.

Besides, some extra money always seems to be a motivator for Kane:
