Last year, Aaron Sanchez was coming off of the best season of his career and appeared ready to step into the role of ace (Not the mascot) for the Blue Jays.

Then, blisters.

Yes, you heard it time and time again last year, that a blister caused an issue on his throwing hand that kept him out of the rotation for most of last season. A lot of people were critical of Sanchez, making comparisons to what other injuries athletes play through, but he missed the whole year because of blisters.

Those were always ridiculous comparisons, because while it no doubt hurt Sanchez, blisters are a performance issue as well for pitchers. Blue Jays blogger Ian Hunter found a clip that explains the issue even further, with photo evidence.

As Sanchez pointed out in the feature, all of these blister issues led to him overcorrecting on his throwing motion and he tore a ligament in his finger. Luckily, it appears as if he’s fully ready to go this season and his finger is looking totally back to normal.
