Sports are a great source of entertainment, but they also offer a terrific platform to cultivate truly inspiring stories. While the inspiration stems from performances in the sport, it can also translate to off the field.

Leonard Fournette is one of the bright young stars in the NFL. The Jacksonville Jaguars running back and his Adrian Peterson-esque style of play burst onto the scene with a huge inaugural season. Unfortunately it ended with a heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship, the Fournette and the Jags seem to have a bright future.

This could be part of the reason Fournette was feeling so generous on Tuesday evening when he tweeted out that he would be fulfilling a huge favour to a former trainer of his. Upon finding out that Jhane Lowsoo, who used to help him as a player at LSU, was struggling to pay tuition for her fifth year, Fournette offered to pay for the rest of it.

After being rejected for loans and working two jobs to make ends meet, Lowsoo was so worried about her financial situation that she actually started a GoFundMe page.

On Thursday, Fournette explained what prompted him to act when he heard about Lowsoo’s circumstance.
