At today’s Cotton Bowl between semifinal between Notre Dame and Clemson, there was the bright idea to serenade the national anthem with a flying bald eagle named Clark. It certainly is a very cool thing! But instead of returning to its handler, Clark roamed free around the arena, even landing on a few Notre Dame fans.

Yeah, it was pretty nuts. (The superstitious are already placing their bets on Notre Dame.)

Scheduled football has since resumed, after Clark was collected by his handlers, and now the Cotton Bowl faces an uphill challenge to present a moment more exciting than when Clark the bald eagle flew free.
