The Washington Redskins are currently one of the biggest question marks in the league. Heading into Sunday, they sat as the 4th seed in the NFC (which is surprising enough in the first place), and possibly in the hunt for a 3rd seed held by the Chicago Bears (who had the same record of 6-3).

Then add in the fact that Alex Smith broke his leg today, and they become even more of a question mark – along with the rest of the NFC East.

The Redskins in general are just confusing at the moment, and so it makes sense that they would be the subject of one of the strangest stats of the season.

Ready? The Washington Redskins took a 4th quarter lead after trailing the Texans for the whole game prior. This was the FIRST lead change in a Redskins game this year.

39 quarters is how long it took for the Redskins to experience a lead change going in either direction. Doesn’t that just kind of seem like an Alex Smith team? The game is either managed to perfection, or the ‘Skins can’t get anything going in the way of a comeback. Textbook Alex Smith. Just to add to the irony, the lead change happened with Washington backup Colt McCoy at the helm after Smith had gone down.
